2017 Ford Fusion: Updated in all the right ways
January 25 2016,
Making its debut at the 2016 North American International Auto Show, the 2017 Ford Fusion is a mid-cycle refresh done just right by the American automaker.
While the refreshed version of the already much-loved Fusion might not look all that different, it’s what’s inside and under the hood that’s most important with this particular update from the Blue Oval.
The 2017 Ford Fusion reaches a new level
Let’s start with the fact that a brand new Ford Fusion Sport engine is now available, along with AWD. Said engine is a twin-turbocharged V6 version of Ford’s 2.7L mill. Power is rated at 325 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque, and will be sent to all four wheels via an all-wheel drive set-up. There is no manual available, however, you will find Ford’s 6-speed automatic transmission.
Exterior details such as a more aggressive front lip and rear decklid spoiler set the Fusion Sport apart from the rest of the refreshed lineup, but it really is what’s under the hood that is sure to be the most impressive. Along with the more powerful version, Ford’s also added a new Platinum model as well as stronger hybrid versions of the Fusion.
The 2017 Ford takes a technological turn
Step inside the 2017 Ford Fusion and the most exciting and interesting refresh is the addition of Ford’s updated and much more functional SYNC3 system to replace the outgoing MyFord Touch. It’s not just about easier navigation through entertainment features, but also features an improved cruise control system, enhanced parking system that allows for perpendicular maneuvers, as well as pedestrian detection.
The refreshed Ford Fusion promises to be as popular and well-loved as the outgoing model, with a host of updated technological bits and pieces as well as the all-new V6 Sport version available. The Fusion is Ford’s bestselling car, and with good reason. This latest update is sure to spike those sales numbers even higher.
Appearing in dealers this summer, you’ll not want to miss the 2017 Ford Fusion as soon as it’s available. So, make sure you head down to you local Bruce Ford today to speak to one or experts and find out more about the new Fusion. And make sure you sign up for a test drive, too.
