2016 Ford Explorer: The Possibilities are Endless
The 2016 Ford Explorer is made for just that: exploring.

If you thought the Ford Explorer was good before, you’re in for a real treat with this newly designed (inside and out) SUV from the Blue Oval. The brand new 2016 Ford Explorer has a new look, a new engine available, and is sure to impress even the most discerning buyers.

Let’s start with the look: the 2016 Ford Explorer has a newly redesigned front fascia in line with the rest of the family’s makeover, one that’s much more modern and slightly aggressive with a manly chain-link-fence-like grille between oversize headlights and above equally large fog lights. That makeover made it to the rear as well, where you’ll find newly designed taillights, an updated liftgate and new exhaust tips. There are also five new wheel designs to choose from, as well as an equal number of new exterior colours to peruse.

Truly, the 2016 Ford Explorer is all-new, and if the exterior wasn’t a dead give away then the interior will be with its new Nirvana leather with micro-perforation and quilting available on the Platinum model.

The 2016 Ford Explorer is New, Improved, and Powerful

Of course, it’s not all about looks. The 2016 Ford Explorer also features a new engine available in the lineup: the brand new 2.3L EcoBoost mill that delivers 280 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. This twin-scroll turbocharger ensures the new Ford Explorer is both responsive and efficient.

However, if it’s more power you’re looking for then there’s always the 3.5L V6 mill that offers up 290 horsepower and 255 lb-ft of torque or the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 that’ll produce 365 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. Both the 3.5L V6 and 2.3L EcoBoost are available with FWD or 4WD, however, the 3.5L EcoBoost is only available as a 4WD model. Power is handled via a 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission only.

A Vehicle You Can Trust Anywhere

As the vehicle’s name would suggest, the 2016 Ford Explorer is made for just that: exploring. With three rows of seating and room for seven, the Explorer offers up 594.8 litres of cargo space behind the third row. Drop that third row down and the space expands to 1,115.1 litres -- plenty of space for all your camping gear and a few friends as well.

The brand new 2016 Ford Explorer has efficiency and performance to offer in a sophisticated package that’s loaded with curb appeal. And with five models to choose from, there is a Ford Explorer for every taste and need.

So, head down to your local Bruce Ford dealer today to speak with one of our experts about the new Explorer, and don’t forget to book your test drive!
