2016 Ford Escape: Get Away From the Norm
A sculpted hood and a strong shoulder line ensure the Escape has a solid and aggressive stance on the road.

The latest generation of the Ford Escape is loaded with the latest and greatest in technological gadgetry, plus there are two EcoBoost engines to choose from in the lineup, as well. When it comes to efficiency, practicality, and amenities behind the wheel, the 2016 Ford Escape is the no. 1 choice, no doubt about it.

Engines to Suit All Lifestyles

The 2016 Ford Escape lineup offers up three different models to choose from, and each offers a different engine and spec set-up, making it an ideal set-up for you to bring home the perfect Escape for you and your needs.

The 2016 Ford Escape S features a naturally aspirated 2.5L Duratec inline-4 engine that produces 168 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque. Then there's the Escape SE that houses a 1.6L EcoBoost inline-4 mill that’s good for 178 horsepower, if fed premium fuel, and 184 lb-ft of torque. And the final model in the Ford Escape lineup is the Titanium model that has a 2.0L EcoBoost engine that’s good for 240 horsepower (again, if fed premium fuel) and 270 lb-ft of torque. Both the SE and Titanium engines are turbocharged.

In terms of fuel efficiency, because that's what EcoBoost is all about after all, you'll see anywhere from as low as 7.4L/100km on the highway with the FWD model, and up to 10.1L/100km on the highway for the AWD. It’s a good range, and one that's exactly on par with the segment and sure to save you dollars at the pumps without hampering your experience behind the wheel.

If it's front wheel drive you're after, then the 2016 Ford Escape S is the model for you because that's the only wai it's available. However, if you want the all-weather, year-round AWD version you’ll want to look at the SE and Titanium models that both come with Ford’s Intelligent AWD system. All 2016 Escape model power is controlled via a 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission.

The 2016 Ford Escape is Sporty Inside and Out

While the 2016 Ford Escape hasn't seen any major exterior design changes, it’s still as modern and forward-looking as ever. A sculpted hood and a strong shoulder line ensure the Escape has a solid and aggressive stance on the road. Chrome accents and a wide gaping front grille also give the 2016 Escape a sporty personality, as well.

That sporty, modern character continues inside the 2016 Ford Escape. With seating for five, the Escape offers up 971L of cargo space with the second row up and 1,920L with it folded. Optionally equipped with Ford’s SYNC onboard entertainment and navigation system, the Escape is well equipped technology-wise, and sure to meet even the most diehard techy's needs and wants. There’s also the available Foot-Activated Hands-free Power liftgate, as well as blind-spot warning, Active Park Assist, and Cross-Traffic Alert. Everything in the 2016 Ford Escape is designed to make your life easier from the moment you fire up the engine with the push-button start.
